Pope Francis was admitted to the Policlinico Agostino Gemelli hospital this morning. According to Italian media, he was admitted to continue treatment for bronchitis in a hospital setting.
"This morning, at the end of the audience, Pope Francis was admitted to the Policlinico Agostino Gemelli for some necessary diagnostic tests and to continue treatment for bronchitis that is currently developing in a hospital setting," the Vatican Press Office announced.
The decision to hospitalise the Pope came after a morning of work and sessions at Casa Santa Marta. The first tests should be carried out within the first hours of his admission to hospital. The Pope should be admitted to the tenth floor as has happened in previous cases. (A2 Televizion)
