"Signalgate" scandal! Trump's National Security Advisor resigns,

Trump's national security adviser, Mike Waltz, has left his post following the Chatgate scandal. The news was reported by American media, according to which Waltz is the first member of Trump's senior leadership team to leave in the president's second term.

Waltz created the Signal chat group, to which a journalist was inadvertently added, where senior officials were planning military strikes in Yemen.

The national security adviser had been under pressure since the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic Magazine revealed in March that Waltz had mistakenly included him in a Signal chat about strikes against the Houthis, in which officials had outlined the attack plan, including when US warplanes would take off to bomb targets in Yemen.

Trump's team previously downplayed the security risks and said no classified material was shared in the conversation.

According to US media, “currently, one of the leading choices to replace Waltz is Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, who is leading negotiations with Russia, Iran and Hamas in Gaza.” Meanwhile, the White House has not confirmed the reports.

The move comes the same week that Trump celebrated his first 100 days in office. (A2 Televizion)
