This afternoon, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer held a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, shortly after the latter's visit to the US.
According to foreign media, a Downing Street spokesman said Sir Keir Starmer told Macron that he "is looking forward to travelling to the US this week" and the pair "spoke about President Macron's visit to Washington yesterday".
"They agreed that President Trump's leadership in working toward a lasting peace in Ukraine was welcome," the spokesman continued.
"They both reiterated that Ukraine must be at the centre of any negotiations and that the UK and Europe are ready to play their part," he continued, writes A2 CNN.
"The leaders expected to speak again soon, after the British prime minister returns from Washington DC," he added.
Starmer will travel to the White House for a meeting with Trump on Thursday and will host a summit of European leaders at the weekend. (A2 Televizion)
