"We have all seen how Russia negotiates. It bombs. It intimidates. It scares and buries promises under rubble." This is what European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said while speaking at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
"Putin wants to force Ukraine to accept the unacceptable," Von der Leyen continued, stressing that the EU must do its utmost to strengthen Ukraine's position.
"A just and lasting peace, which guarantees Ukraine's sovereignty, respects its territorial integrity and supports its European aspirations. This is the crossroads we face. And for Europe, the risks are great. So we must do our utmost to strengthen Ukraine's position," she stressed.
