At least 30 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza

At least 30 people have been killed across the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli attacks, local authorities said on June 18.

The victims include Palestinians who were killed while waiting in line to receive aid in front of distribution centers.

Three weeks ago, Israel partially lifted the blockade imposed on Gaza, which had prevented supplies from entering the Palestinian territory for almost three months.

Since the blockade was partially lifted, there have been almost daily reports of Palestinians being killed near aid distribution centers.

Health workers said separate airstrikes on homes in the Magazi refugee camp and the Zeitu neighborhood in northern Gaza killed at least 14 people. Five others were killed in Khan Yunis, in the southern Palestinian territory.

Eleven others were killed as Palestinians waited for trucks carrying aid - sent by the United Nations - in central Gaza, health workers said.

The Israeli military said it was investigating reports of deaths of people waiting to receive food. As for the other attacks, the army said they were aimed at destroying the military capabilities of Hamas - the Palestinian group designated a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union.

On Tuesday, the Gaza Health Ministry said 397 Palestinians have been killed and more than 3,000 injured while waiting to receive aid since its distribution began in several centers in the territory in late May.

The war in Gaza began when Hamas-led militants attacked southern Israel, killing nearly 1,200 people and taking nearly 250 hostages. Israel says 58 hostages remain in Gaza, although about 35 are believed to be dead.

Since then, Israel's war has killed more than 55,000 people in Gaza, many of them women and children, according to Palestinian health officials . (A2 Televizion)
