Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reacted after the phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the future of the war in Ukraine, writes A2 CNN.
In a statement to the media, Zelensky stressed that Ukraine "will not be able to accept any agreement" that is made without its direct participation. He underlined the importance of avoiding a scenario that would allow Russia to dictate the terms of the negotiations, causing talks to take place only between Moscow and Washington.
The Ukrainian president added that he does not see Trump's phone call with Putin as a sign that dialogue with Russia is a priority for the American leader. However, he acknowledged that such a move is not "very pleasant" for Ukraine. "There can be no talks about Ukraine without Ukraine," he said, emphasizing that European countries should also be part of the negotiating table.
Zelensky also said that during his communication with Trump, he had made it clear that Ukraine's priority remains providing security guarantees. According to him, these guarantees cannot exist without the support of the United States. (A2 Televizion)
