Donald Trump is expected to sign up to 200 executive orders on his first day as the 47th president of the United States. Speaking to a crowd of about 25,000 people who had waited in line for hours in sub-zero temperatures, Trump, 78, said his new America would be radically different from the one he inherited.
“What a good feeling — we like to win, don’t we?” Trump told supporters packed into Washington’s Capital One Arena less than 24 hours before he was sworn in as president for a second time.
"It all starts tomorrow when I raise my hand to the Bible to take the oath, we will take the oath tomorrow. We will all take the oath together. That's how I see it. That means you are greater than all of them. We will lower your taxes and inflation, we will lower your prices, we will raise your wages and we will bring thousands of factories back to the United States. And together we will make America great again. We will make America rich again. We will make America healthy again. We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again," Trump said.
Donald Trump told thousands of supporters he would impose severe restrictions on immigration on his first day in office, vowing to quickly fulfill a central campaign promise on Sunday. He also stressed that he would investigate the historic assassination of former US President John F. Kennedy in 1960.
“Starting tomorrow, I will act with historic speed and force and fix every single crisis our country faces. Perhaps most beautiful of all, this week we reached an epic ceasefire agreement as the first step toward lasting peace in the Middle East. And this agreement could only have happened as a result of our historic victory in November. We will quickly restore control of our sovereign territory and borders. We will deport every single illegal foreign gang member and criminal immigrant operating on American soil. Every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration will be rescinded within hours of my swearing in. We will release the remaining records relating to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other subjects of great public interest to us. Everything will be released, Uncle Sam,” Trump added.
Trump also said he plans to speak with Vladimir Putin soon and has ordered his aides to arrange a phone call with the Russian president in the coming days, with the aim of discussing the possibility of a meeting in the coming months to end the war in Ukraine, while the Kremlin leader has expressed interest in meeting him. Other world leaders are expected to begin flocking to Washington to try to get new relations back on track. (A2 Televizion)
