Three women have died in the Brazilian city of Torres after eating cake at a Christmas table.
Tatiana Denize Silva dos Anjos (43 years old) and Maida Berenice Flores da Silva (58 years old), died after eating the Christmas dessert.
Meanwhile, Maida's sister, Neuza Denize, Silva dos Anjo (65 years old), was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where she breathed her last.
The dessert that the 58-year-old prepared with her 65-year-old sister is a Bolo de Natal - a typical Brazilian dessert for Christmas celebrations. After eating the cake, three other members of the family felt sick.
According to globo.com, the results of the first laboratory analyzes showed the presence of arsenic in at least one of the victims as well as two survivors. The information was confirmed to RBS TV by police officer Marcos Vinícius Veloso, who is leading the investigation.
According to the police officer, the woman who prepared the cake was the only one in the house who ate two slices of the cake and the highest concentration of poison was found in her blood. (A2 Televizion)
