Trump signs first bill of his second administration

President Donald Trump is set to sign the Laken Riley Act, the first piece of legislation to receive his signature since his return to the White House.

According to foreign media, the bill is named after a nursing student in Georgia who was killed last year by a Venezuelan man while going for a run on the campus of the University of Georgia.

This bill calls for the detention of unauthorized immigrants accused of theft and violent crimes, writes A2 CNN.

Before discussing the legislation, the President repeated a claim made yesterday about his administration's blocking of $50 million worth of condoms being sent to Gaza.

He also claimed again that his administration had been responsible for restoring tap water in California after the devastating fires.

"Water has now started flowing in California as we continue network restoration in the coming days," he said.

"Nobody has seen anything like this," Trump said, A2 CNN writes.

The California Department of Water said yesterday that the federal government restored federal water pumps to service after they had been out of service for three days. (A2 Televizion)
