Donald Trump does not rule out the possibility of opening an investigation into Joe Biden. In his first interview as US president on Fox News, Trump stated that former President Joe Biden was wrong not to pardon himself before leaving office.
"He forgave everyone. And the funniest thing, maybe the saddest thing, is that he didn't forgive himself. And if you look at it, it all had to do with him," Trump replied, when asked by journalist Sean Hannity if he intends to ask Congress, or the Department of Justice, to "investigate" his predecessor, writes A2 CNN.
Trump did not specify what violations the former president may have committed, only that his predecessor should endure the kind of legal scrutiny he endured before being reelected.
"I went through four years of hell. I spent millions of dollars in legal fees and I won. But I did it the hard way."
When asked by Hannity if he was given the opportunity to pardon himself in 2021 when he was leaving the White House, Trump responded that he declined because he believed he had done nothing wrong, A2 CNN reports.
At another point in the conversation, Trump recalled that he could have investigated Hillary Clinton, but decided not to do so.
"I've always been against investigations into presidents, or in the case of Hillary Clinton, for example. I could have done it, but I didn't want to," he said. (A2 Televizion)
