Turkey: If Israel does not respect Syria's sovereignty, we will respond

The Foreign Minister of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, has issued threats against Israel, in his statements on TV MEMRI, shortly after the raids on military facilities in Syria and the intense activity of the Israeli army in the Golan Heights.

Ankara's head of diplomacy, speaking about recent developments in Syria and Israel's position, emphasized that " the new Syrian government will not clash with Israel if the latter respects Syria's territorial sovereignty " and added, in a threatening tone, that it could apply other means against Tel Aviv if they show an annexation and control approach.

" If Israel does otherwise, can other measures be considered?" Any government that represents its own people is a threat to Israel. Israel considers any government that wants to represent its entire people to be a threat. Israel's government did not want Assad to leave. They may have been unhappy that Assad had given way to Iran, but overall they were happy with him on a personal level ," Fidan said.

According to the Turkish Foreign Minister, " Israel wants to maintain the maximum possible security in some areas and takes into account the worst possible scenarios ".

Therefore, according to Fidan, Tel Aviv has launched a wave of attacks by bombing Syria. However, Fidan underlined that this is unacceptable and that Israel "is trying to impose itself on a sovereign country without any justification" . (A2 Televizion)
