Russia carried out multiple drone attacks across Ukraine overnight, attacks that targeted multiple regions of the country.

According to foreign media, the Ukrainian air force says Moscow launched 479 drones in what it calls the largest overnight bombing of the war so far.

In addition to the drones, 20 missiles of various types were fired at various parts of Ukraine, according to the air force, which said the barrage mainly targeted the central and western areas of the country.

It is said that the country's air defenses destroyed 277 drones and 19 missiles in mid-flight and that only 10 drones or missiles hit their target.

Explosions were reported overnight in Kiev and Rivne, with the governor of the latter reporting that one civilian was injured.

"A very difficult night for the Rivne Oblast. Our region suffered a powerful enemy air strike," said Oleksandr Koval, writes A2 CNN.

Rivne is located in northwestern Ukraine and borders Belarus. The region is not a frequent target of Russian air strikes.

Elsewhere, one person was injured in Zaporizhzhia and four others were injured in Kherson, according to the governors of both regions.

Officials said seven civilians were injured after attacks in the Kharkiv area and that nine people were wounded in the Sumy region, where Russia launched nearly 90 attacks.
