Zelensky: Ceasefire to be monitored with satellites and intelligence

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that a possible ceasefire with Russia should be monitored with the help of the United States, through satellites and intelligence.

Zelensky said that the issue of the occupation of Ukrainian territories was discussed at the meeting the Ukrainian delegation had with the Americans in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, but that the solution is expected to involve a "difficult dialogue."

Referring to the situation in Kursk, he admitted that the situation is "very difficult" for Ukrainian soldiers who still have a small part of this Russian region under their control.

The Ukrainian military has denied, however, that its forces are in danger of being surrounded by the Russian army.

"The situation in the Kursk region is undoubtedly very difficult," Zelensky said, assuring at the same time that the military "achieved its goals" in this operation.

On the contrary, the situation on the Pokrovsk front in eastern Ukraine has stabilized, he added.

Zelensky also assured that he maintains "normal" relations with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, after their stormy meeting at the White House in late February.

"Close relations with the US are very important for Ukraine," he said, adding that "we need normal and effective relations." (A2 Televizion)
