While US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was addressing the media at the G7 summit in Canada, Russian President Vladimir Putin also spoke.
According to foreign media, Putin said the situation has started to move after talks with Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, in Moscow, adding "let's see what comes of it."
Putin also addressed Trump's request to spare the lives of Ukrainian troops who Russia claims are surrounded, writes A2 CNN.
We recall that in a post on Truth Social, the American president said: "I have strongly urged President Putin to spare his life."
"This would be a horrific massacre, unseen since World War II," Trump said earlier.
Responding to Trump's comments, Putin called on Ukrainian authorities to order their soldiers to surrender.
He says that if they surrender, Russia will guarantee that their lives will be spared.
As mentioned earlier, Ukraine has said that claims that its troops are surrounded in Kursk are untrue. (A2 Televizion)
