KFOR marks 26th anniversary: ​​Soldiers risk themselves to ensure peace in

The NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, KFOR, marked today the 26th anniversary of its establishment with a ceremony held at the KFOR Headquarters, at the Film City Camp in Pristina.

KFOR Commander, Major General Enrico Barduani, led the ceremony, writes A2 CNN.

He opened it by laying a laurel wreath at the monument to the Fallen at KFOR Headquarters.

The ceremony was attended by personnel from all 33 Troop Contributing Nations, including NATO Allies and partners, KFOR said in a statement.

"Today, we honor the dedication and courage of KFOR soldiers, who risk themselves in the line of duty to ensure peace and stability for all communities in Kosovo, under a UN mandate.

"Since the beginning of the mission in 1999, two hundred and twenty KFOR service members have lost their lives in the line of duty. Their example should inspire us in our daily tasks to fulfill KFOR's mission," said Barduani, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
