The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, is the only one who has gone to offer condolences to the family of former President Hashim Thaçi, after the passing of his father, Haxhi Thaçi.
At noon, Konjufca was photographed in Burajë, leaving a note in the book of mourning, while telling local media that Haxhi Thaçi, as a patriot, had a great influence on the formation of the life and career of President Hashim Thaçi, who played a key role in declaring Kosovo's independence.
"We all knew Bacin Haxhi as a great patriot and wise old man who deeply inspired his family, his relatives and this part of Drenica. Above all, he inspired his son Hashim Thaçi with patriotism, who was the president of the Republic of Kosovo, but also one of the very important bearers of our past," said Konjufca.
Konjufca did not leave out the role of Hashim Thaçi in the difficult period of 1990, in the fight for freedom and the battle for justice, which he and the other 3 former KLA commanders are waging today in The Hague.
"Even during the '90s, from the student movement, then at the head of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) together with its activists, they are defending the cause even in The Hague with uncle Jakup, with Rexhep Selimi and chairman Kadri Veseli, they were at the head of the KLA, which thanks to the glorious war brought freedom, then the declaration of independence and in all the most important processes of Kosovo. This would not have happened without a doubt without the inspiration and without the inspiration that we have from our parents, just as President Thaçi undoubtedly had from uncle Haxhi.
