This afternoon, 1,640 packages of ballots arrived at the Central Election Commission in Pristina, which belong to the voting process by mail in the CEC mailboxes outside Kosovo, from Austria.
This was announced by CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi. He said that according to procedures, these ballot packages are initially subjected to an evaluation process, which includes verifying whether they belong to registered voters and whether other prescribed procedures have been followed.
Meanwhile, the counting of these ballots will take place at a later stage at the Counting and Results Center, after election day.
"The process of evaluating postal deliveries will also be able to be observed by observers accredited by the CEC, who will be notified in due time," Elezi told KosovaPress.
Currently, the voting by mail period is underway, which applies only to citizens who, during their registration as voters outside Kosovo, have individually determined the method of voting by sending the ballot by mail to one of the mailboxes opened by the CEC outside Kosovo, or by sending the ballot by mail to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo.
This voting period began on January 9 and will end on February 8, 2025. (A2 Televizion)
