Irregularities in vote counting, Nenad Rashic warns of lawsuit

The Serbian Party for Freedom, Truth and Persistence (SPO) has warned that it will take legal measures for vote tampering during the February 9 election process, but has not indicated whether it will be against the Belgrade-led Serbian List.

Nenad Rashic, chairman of this party, has warned that the perpetrators of irregularities will be prosecuted and criminal charges will be filed against them, to protect the will of the voters and preserve the integrity of the electoral process.

"The first case concerns the polling station commission in Novo Brdo, polling station 1404, Bostane village, which was signed by all members of the polling station commission, where we were harmed by 9 votes. The minutes stated that we had zero votes, while today's count by the municipal vote counting commission found that we had 9 votes in that position," he wrote on Facebook.

Rashic said they found irregularities that seriously undermine the fairness of the elections and the will of some citizens.

"Some of the citizens who have supported our political option have not had the opportunity to have their voices properly recognized. In the next steps, we will act in accordance with the law. Our determination to uphold justice will be unwavering, because only through fair elections can we guarantee the progress of the community."

Preliminary results of the CEC, after counting 99.72 percent of the votes, show that 3,960 citizens or 0.47 percent voted for the Za Slobodu Pravdu i Ostanak party, while the Serbian List, close to official Belgrade, received 4.55 percent or 38,083.

Serbs have ten reserved seats in the Kosovo Assembly, which after the 2021 elections went to the Serbian List, following pressure from official Belgrade on local Kosovo Serbs not to vote for other Serbian political entities, but to follow the policies directed by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. /kosovapress.  (A2 Televizion)
