"The draft is not very good, there are many challenges". The Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, expresses concerns about the draft statute for the formation of the association, but confirms that it is a good basis to work with, as it addresses many of the problems raised in the past.
The chief diplomat asked for patience for the non-publication of the document and underlined that the government will not accept something that is harmful to Kosovo: "The draft does not offer any kind of autonomy for the north of Kosovo and it is not a fair question as the answer does not depend on us. If it was up to us as a government, we would have published it immediately the next day. This is a request of those who facilitate the negotiation process".
Gërvalla added that there can be no trilateral meetings in Brussels until the European Union punishes Serbia for the terrorist attack in Banjska. Regarding the new recognitions of independence, the minister said that she cannot say precisely when it will be: "I can tell you that not a day passes without working intensively for the new recognitions, in the first place of the five countries not familiar with the EU and then in other continents".
Before speaking to the media, Gërvalla reported to the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the Assembly. The minister clarified that the amount of 7500 euros for the external advisor, Gani Jakupi, was not a monthly salary, but a 1-year project for his engagement in the non-recognizing countries of Kosovo.
PDK MP Ariana Musliu Shoshi answered her harshly: "When I speak, please listen. You don't need to tell me whether I'm off topic or not. Close! So, you have not submitted the law on foreign service and you are at the end of your term. You have nothing to do with foreign policy, I don't know what you are talking about, you are just a puppet of Dejona Mihal".
This reaction came after Gërvalla said that he does not talk about finances with PDK, accusing this political force that when he was in power he paid 4.5 million euros for other purposes and not for recognition. (A2 Televizion)
