The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has reacted after the death of 27-year-old Agon Zejnullahu, which is suspected to have occurred during a police intervention. She described the incident as "serious and shocking", calling for immediate institutional action.

"All circumstances of this case must be investigated immediately, independently and professionally," declared President Osmani, adding that full transparency, institutional accountability and uncompromising justice are required.

She emphasized that any official who may have violated the law or exceeded their powers must face justice without delay.

"No one is above the law," the President emphasized in her reaction, which comes after increased public interest and demands for a full investigation into this case.

Meanwhile, the Kosovo Police has reacted again, publishing an official version of the event that occurred shortly after midnight on July 7 in Lipjan.

According to the official announcement, on July 7 at around 00:12, the Police received six calls from various citizens, who reported a person with aggressive behavior on “Haradin Bajrami” street in Lipjan. It is further stated that Zejnullahu posed a general danger to passers-by, as he was attacking them, chasing vehicles and attempting to enter them.

"Police units reacted immediately and, according to the police, even in their presence the person continued to behave uncontrollably and dangerously."

Police announced that, due to active resistance and an attempt to attack officers, protective spray was used to neutralize him. According to police, prior to the arrest, police officers attempted to communicate and negotiate with the young man for about five to six minutes to convince him to accompany them to the police station.

"The shift supervisor had also called the ambulance, noting his psychological and health condition. Despite his attempt to escape from the police, the young man was arrested. The ambulance arrived at the scene after three minutes, but the medical team had determined his death," the police stated.

According to the KP, several personal items and a powdery substance suspected to be narcotics were found at the scene. " The same has been sent for examination ," the statement said.

The police announced that, in addition to the investigative units and the Prosecutor for Serious Crimes, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) also arrived at the scene. " All evidence, including security camera footage, has been submitted for investigation, " the statement said. (A2 Televizion)
