Kosovo Police launched an ongoing police operation on Wednesday in the North and South Mitrovica regions, believed to be related to the smuggling of weapons and ammunition.
The action is being carried out by the Kosovo Police Unit against Organized Crime in several locations in northern Kosovo.
The Kosovo Police for the northern region confirmed to Radio Free Europe that it is assisting this unit from Pristina, but did not provide further details.
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty has learned that similar actions are taking place in the South Mitrovica region.
