With their hands in handcuffs and heads bowed, they entered the courtroom. The Basic Court in Pristina held the initial hearing on the serious murder case of Liridona Ademaj. Judge Fatime Dermaku asked Naim Murseli, Kushtrim Kokalla, Granit Plava and Tom Dodaj if they understood the case brought against them by the prosecution.

The prosecutor in the case read the indictment, confirming that everything was organized by Naim Murseli as revenge and to benefit from life insurance in Sweden, while recounting these details of the macabre event through a translator.

The accused were then questioned regarding their confession.

Naim Murseli: completely innocent…

Tom Dodaj: I plead guilty…

This led the judge to announce her sentence.

"Tom Dodaj is sentenced to 5 years in prison and a 5,000 euro fine for the criminal offense of "Unauthorized import, export, supply, transportation, production, exchange, brokerage or sale of weapons or explosive materials". The decision of 5 years in prison is due to the serious consequences", said the judge.

Judge Dermaku explained that Naim Murseli, Granit Plava and Kushtrim Kokalla could be sentenced to at least 10 years to life imprisonment if found guilty of the charges brought against them. At the end of the hearing, the Ademaj family's lawyer welcomed the first sentence. However, Dodajt's defense announced an appeal of the sentence.

The gruesome murder of Liridona Ademaj occurred on the evening of November 29, 2023, in a village near Pristina. It was initially reported by her husband, Naim Murseli, as a murder following a robbery, but investigators quickly discovered that it was a crime organized by Naim Murseli. (A2 Televizion)
