The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, requested during her meeting with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, that the European Union recognize Kosovo's progress towards integration and pave the way for the country to obtain candidate status.
In a Facebook post, Osmani stressed that Kosovo has made important steps in meeting European requirements and that it is time for the EU to assess this progress. She called for the removal of discriminatory measures against Kosovo and for further advancement on the path of European integration to be enabled.
"Our people have demonstrated unwavering commitment to European values and have made significant steps on the path towards integration. It is time for the EU to recognize and appreciate this progress, including by removing unjust measures and paving the way for Kosovo towards candidate status," declared President Osmani.
