Kosovo's ruling party, the Vetevendosje Movement, is on track to come first in parliamentary elections, but will need to negotiate a coalition with other parties to form a government, the international news agency Reuters reports, based on Kosovo polls.
The election result would be a drop of more than 50% for Prime Minister Albin Kurti's party, compared to 2021, A2 reports.
Political analysts say Kurti's popularity has been boosted by moves to expand government control in the ethnic Serb-majority north of Kosovo.
But critics say he has failed to provide education and health services and that his policies have distanced Kosovo from its traditional allies, the European Union and the United States.
