For the first time, citizens registered abroad will also vote in the February 9 elections in Kosovo.
The voting period for the diaspora will last 31 days, from January 9 to February 8, writes A2.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi says that Germany is the country with the largest number of registered voters abroad: "The two countries with the largest number of registered voters are Germany with 44,774 voters and Switzerland with 27,248 voters. registered. After them come several other countries such as France, Sweden, Austria, Italy, the United States of America, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Finland. All these states make up the 10 states with the largest number of registered voters from outside Kosovo for the electoral process in our country".
A total of 104,924 citizens of Kosovo abroad who will be able to vote for the parliamentary elections. Many of them will vote in the Kosovar diplomatic missions, while others will send their ballots to the CEC mailboxes.
"Of the total number of registered voters outside Kosovo, which is 104,924, of which 20,399 have registered to vote physically in any of the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Kosovo on February 8, while another 17,104 citizens have registered for sent packages with ballot papers to the address of the post office box of the Central Election Commission in Kosovo and the largest number of 67 421 voters have registered to send the ballot package to any of the CEC mailboxes that will be opened outside Kosovo", says Elezi.
According to the CEC, all citizens who are registered to vote outside Kosovo will find their name only in the Voting List outside Kosovo, meanwhile, their names are removed from the Voting List which is distributed to polling stations on election day.
