After the disappointing results of 2021, the Democratic League of Kosovo, with a new leader and candidate for prime minister, seeks to return to power.

Lumir Abdixhiku, once Albin Kurti's former minister, is now seeking the position of prime minister.

The LDK's economic plan is oriented towards a strong partnership with the private sector in the country. As a center-right party, the LDK considers the private sector as a generator of economic activity, as a main source of job creation, and as a key driver of national prosperity and well-being.

In addition to increasing salaries, LDK aims to liberalize the market while also envisioning the privatization of public enterprises such as Telecom of Kosovo to the extent of 51%.

"In our political program we have 5 billion euros in investments. 5 billion euros in budget. 5% economic growth. Our ambition is both fair, possible and courageous. From the first week, or one more week, we will reduce the salaries of all public servants in Kosovo, all teachers, doctors, police officers, firefighters, soldiers, all state workers by a coefficient of 150."

The abundant, quality and affordable supply of electricity to all citizens and businesses in Kosovo is the goal of the LDK, and for this purpose, the construction of a gas-fired power plant is also envisaged.

For families, LDK proposes the formation of the Ministry of Family and Welfare, the elimination of expenses for the first year of a child, and 5,000 euros for every third child.

In healthcare, the Democratic League of Kosovo plans to take a series of steps that will advance not only the financing of this sector, but also the level of service provision in Kosovo hospitals.

"For all the families here in Kosovo, we will build the new Kosovo hospital with a full 500 million euros invested in it. New hospital, new location, new buildings, new equipment, modern healthcare as our beautiful and fabulous country deserves."

To advance education in Kosovo, the LDK program foresees interventions at several levels, such as increasing the number of kindergartens, reorganizing schools, strengthening vocational schools; linking education with the labor market at the level of high schools and universities, and improving infrastructure.

"For all children in Kosovo who spend 4 hours in school today, LDK will provide all-day education, hot meals, modern classrooms, digital whiteboards and modern learning."

In terms of security and defense, LDK aims to develop the Armed Forces through personnel development, human resource management, development of the intelligence and security component, the field of military operations, the field of logistical support, planning, communication and training.

"In security and defense, we will have 10,000 police officers, with police in the municipality, police officers for every neighborhood and place in Kosovo. We will have 6,000 soldiers, 4 new military barracks because our security, our defense are our obligations, a strong government, a strong state, from Ibrahim Rugova, the martyrs, the Kosovo Liberation Army to the Kosovo Army, a NATO force."

In the infrastructure sector, the aim is to complete all roads initiated over the years, with the aim of completing the road map in the country. A significant part of the financing is said to be provided through soft loans, through international agreements, while in specific local projects, it will be coordinated with local governments.

"We will invest over 1 billion euros in road infrastructure, from the capital's ring road to the completion of all regional, main and motorway roads in Kosovo."

In fairness, LDK says it will move forward with the Vetting process according to the recommendations of the Venice Commission.

In foreign policy, deepening the permanent strategic partnership with the United States, European Union member states, the United Kingdom, and Euro-Atlantic integration are the main goals.

The Democratic League of Kosovo says it will implement a foreign policy that safely advances the interests of the Republic of Kosovo in the system of international relations. (A2 Televizion)
