An armored car of the Kosovo Police had an accident last night in the north of the country. As a result, eight policemen were injured.
Eight police officers of the Special Operative Unit were injured as a result of an accident with an armored car in the north of the country, precisely the village of Grabovc. The suspicions are that the vehicle skidded and went off the road.
Deputy Director of Police for the North Region, Veton Elshani, said that the accident happened around 8:00 p.m.
"We can confirm that shortly after 20:00, it was reported that in the north of the country, specifically in the village of Grabovc, an official armored car in which there were eight operators, allegedly slipped and went off the road.
Competent police units immediately arrived at the scene to deal with the case, and medical teams with ambulances were also notified.
As a result of the accident, the police officers suffered injuries, they were sent by the medical teams to the hospital center for further medical treatment", declared Elshani last night.
After the first examinations of the police officials, until now there is still not much information. There are 8 of them who are being treated in the emergency room", confirmed the spokeswoman of this hospital, Nita Mustafa.
Then two of the policemen were transferred for treatment to the Clinical and University Center of Kosovo and that two others were also sent to this clinic.
The Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, has announced after midnight that three policemen have been sent to KKUK.
He said that he visited the same and that their condition was stable.
"Out of the eight police officers injured tonight in the accident, five have been released at home and three are in the Emergency Clinic at KKUK. I visited them tonight and the doctors informed me that their condition is stable and for the moment out of danger for their lives", stated Vitia. (A2 Televizion)
