The fight against crime and corruption, guaranteeing public safety, investigating domestic violence and improving services for citizens are the challenges that the State Police faces today. This was announced by Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha on the 112th anniversary of the establishment of the State Police. According to him, Albania 2030 needs strong, fair and reliable institutions.
"The fight against organized crime and corruption; Guaranteeing public safety in every corner of Albania, including full control of the territory; Increasing the effectiveness in the investigation of cases of domestic violence, trafficking or crimes that we consider small but that violate the basic rights of our citizens. Improving services for citizens is another request and duty for you, ensuring that every citizen feels supported and protected when in need by the State Police. The country has tremendous potential, but in order to move forward towards Albania 2030, we need strong, fair and reliable institutions. An integral part of this vision is the new generation of leaders" .
In his speech, the minister asked for maximum commitment from the police structures this election year.
"The 112th anniversary of the police in 2025 and the unique number 112 are in a symbiosis that can only happen once. Therefore, my appeal to every police officer is to consider this year as a special year in the services that we must provide to the citizens. In addition to the usual burden of work and tasks that you have, the year 2025 brings you an additional burden, not easy for the State Police and the Ministry of the Interior itself. I am talking about the general parliamentary elections that have been decreed to take place on May 11. According to the electoral code, the police have specific tasks in ensuring and running this process. This commitment will require an increased expenditure of time and energy for each police officer. Either for those assigned directly to the relevant services in guaranteeing the process, or for the rest, whose workload will increase".
He expressed his support for the police and announced that the second zero-interest loan program for 90 police officers has been approved.
"We are committed to supporting you every step of the way. We recently approved the second program for zero-interest housing loans for another 90 uniformed employees. This program will continue, to find you next to and support the youth in the State Police. Employees of the State Police are required to always maintain the same idealism and passion with which they entered this service, when they were sworn in as police officers.
