The United Kingdom Ambassador to Albania, Nicholas Abbott, met with the head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani.
Abbott reaffirmed the UK's commitment to supporting SPAK.
"In the run-up to the elections, we welcome SPAK's efforts to support Albanian democracy through the investigation of electoral crimes. During its five years of operation, SPAK has become one of the most trusted institutions in Albania and is internationally recognised as such. The United Kingdom remains a proud partner of SPAK and looks forward to further cooperation in 2025," the embassy said in a statement on the meeting.
At the end of January, the Special Prosecution Office published the plan of measures for the implementation of the strategy for the investigation and prevention of electoral crime for the general elections on May 11, A2 CNN reports.
Key measures include the establishment of a special investigative group, on-site monitoring and investigation to prevent electoral crimes, media and social media monitoring, and financial monitoring. (A2 Televizion)
