Sali Berisha used the obligation to appear before SPAK this Monday to accuse the head of the institution of being a paid mercenary of Edi Rama, who, according to him, is protecting the prime minister's brother from the investigation into the "Xibraka" file.
Berisha claimed that Zaho Koka, the character who, according to him, submitted images proving the connections of Prime Minister Rama's brother with cocaine traffickers, went to SPAK.
"While I was in the building, I found Zaho Koka with his file. Zaho was testifying surrounded by several OPGJ about Olsi Rama. He had submitted photos and videos that proved that Olsi Rama is a trafficker and that he, together with a gang, came from Boston to continue the trafficking. Most of the building consists of the waste from the Tirana incinerator," Berisha said after leaving the doors of SPAK.
The Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani, responded through a media release, explaining that he has requested information from the National Bureau of Investigation regarding Berisha's claim.
"In response to your interest: Based on the statement made in the media, the Head of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, Mr. Altin Dumani, has addressed the Director of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) through a letter dated 13.01.2025, to make the necessary verifications, whether any letter has been sent to the BKH by the citizen mentioned as Zaho Koka, providing information about the citizen Ols Rama, as well as the kidnapping of a businessman with the initials VB", the SPAK announcement states.
In the response that the BKH sends back to Dumani, it is underlined that there is no report from any citizen identified as Zaho Koka.
"Through this letter, the Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Mr. Altin Dumani, has requested whether such information has been sent, whether any BKH investigator has been registered or assigned (which one) and whether his verification has been carried out. Mr. Dumani has also requested to be informed whether the verifications carried out have been completed and what the procedure is. On 14.01.2025, the Director of the National Bureau of Investigation, through a letter, explained that: "From the verifications carried out in the Secretariat, Protocol, it results that no letter, report or denunciation has been received by the National Bureau of Investigation from the citizen alleged to be Zaho Koka," the reaction of the head of SPAK further states.
