Marco Alberti has been appointed as Italy's new ambassador to Albania, writes A2 CNN.
The news was announced by the Italian Foreign Ministry through a post on the social network 'X'.
We recall that Farizio Bucci left the position of Italian Ambassador to Albania, after the end of his 5-year mandate.
"The political situation in Albania is conflictual. In a few months there will be parliamentary elections and I hope that the electoral campaign will be based on facts and programs. Because Albanians are interested in the programs of political parties and what they offer to improve their lives.
"We respect the internal dynamics of Albanian politics and it is up to the latter to decide. What is important is that Albania will remain an important partner for Italy. It is a long-term relationship that will last and Italy will be by Albania's side regardless of the governments that will be at the helm of the country," said Bucci from Gjirokastra before leaving, where he was honored with the title of honorary citizen by the city's municipality.
