Tourism can now be called in the full sense of the word an industry in the city of Durrës. And this fact is confirmed by the flow of tourists that has been increasing in recent years.
And this has also dictated the significant increase of new registered entities, most of which are in the function of this industry.
"Albanians have started to adapt to the changes. In my opinion, Durrës is the only city in Albania whose prices are in fair proportion to the services it offers. We have a significant increase in the registration of businesses, especially tourist operators. This is also a consequence of legal changes and tourism strategy, where taking umbrellas on the seashore requires certain conditions like being a hotel", said Artan Luku, chairman of DHTI Durrës, writes A2 CNN.
But despite this, the level of informality continues to be still worrying, since on the 64 km of coastline, which is administered by the municipality of Durrës, about 207 accommodation units are registered, while many apartments that serve tourists are not registered and serve in black.
