The rector of the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi", Tonin Gjuraj, called on lecturers and students to avoid electoral meetings on the premises of this university with various candidates for MPs because such a thing will not be allowed, writes A2 CNN. Gjuraj said that lecturers and students are free to engage politically after official working hours.
"Of course, I have always encouraged political activism, so that young people can get involved, but considering the role and profile of the University, I invite students and lecturers to avoid electoral meetings in the University premises, meetings with candidates of different political forces," said Gjuraj. "The premises of this institution absolutely should not be used for meetings of an electoral nature."
Rector Gjuraj requested that in April, that is, in a few days, work begin on contacts with high schools from Ulcinj in Montenegro to Tropoja to absorb as many students as possible for the next academic year.
At the senate meeting, the rector of the University of Shkodra said that out of the 14 programs applied for at the Ministry of Education, 9 of them have passed the first phase, while he also announced several projects that will be funded by the National Agency for Scientific Research.
At the beginning of the meeting, the academic senate of "Luigj Gurakuqi" University held a minute of silence in honor of Professor Selman Sheme, who passed away a few days ago. (A2 Televizion)
