The samples sent from the carcass of mild and crossbred pigs, from the Regional Veterinary Service of Lezhë District, to the Reference Laboratory - Institute of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine, on 26.12.2024, have been positive with the RT - PCR confirmatory test, for the presence of African Swine Fever disease.
African swine fever is a contagious viral disease that causes hemorrhagic fever in domestic and wild pigs and is often associated with their death.
This disease can severely affect the productivity of the pig breeding sector and has an extremely high potential for spread. (A2 Televizion)
