A day after appearing at the meeting of the SP parliamentary group to express his position on the SPAK action, which imposed 24 security measures for employees and lecturers of the Agricultural University, rector Fatbardh Sallaku convened the academic senate.
A2 CNN learns that at the meeting, the rector of UTB reported on the situation at this institution.
Sources for A2 CNN report that the rector has asked academic staff to continue the teaching process normally in all faculties of the University.
Today, the new administrator of UBT is expected to be appointed, after the GJKKO decided to leave the current administrator, Edmond Terthorja, in prison.
The Academic Senate has also been informed of the conversation that Rector Sallaku had with leaders of the University of Bocuse in Vienna.
Sallaku stated that the University of Vienna will continue its cooperation with the Agricultural University to reformat the study programs at UBT and implement dual diplomas in the new academic year.
Yesterday, Sallaku declared before the majority parliamentary group that his phone was also taken away, as part of the investigations conducted by the Special Prosecution Office and which ended with the arrest of 5 people, and the granting of lighter security measures to 19 other people, including vice-rectors, lecturers, procurement directors and IT specialists.
"I do not know any information about what was discussed. Fortunately, the law on higher education separates the administrative side very well from the academic side. Which means that the rector with all the academic staff completes his work until the budget is sent to the senate. I was the subject of the phone call, I have shown myself to be totally willing, I have nothing to hide. We have been cooperative, we have provided all the requested information," said Sallaku, reports A2 CNN.
The UBT rector also explained why he chose to be present at this meeting. "What I want to emphasize is the fact that, this appearance, I am also obliged to do so because I am the rector of a university that does not act in isolation, but is in a process that has been underway for 3 years thanks to the personal investment of the country's prime minister," declared Sallaku.
