The Ambassador of Albania to Switzerland, Mustafa Nano, has resigned from his position after a period of one and a half years in this post. The news was confirmed by Nano himself in a statement to the Swiss newspaper LeCanton27.ch , where he stated that the resignation was for personal reasons.
In his message, Nano thanked the Albanian community in Switzerland, which he described as united and energetic. He emphasized that during his mandate he worked to unify Albanians in Switzerland, a community of over 300,000 people, most of whom are from Kosovo, while around 3,000 of them are from Albania.
Nano was appointed ambassador in July of last year, replacing Ilir Gjon, who had held this position since 2023. In November 2022, Nano submitted his Credentials to the President of the Swiss Confederation, Alain Berset.
Currently, Switzerland remains without an Albanian ambassador, and the name of Nano's successor has not yet been announced. (A2 Televizion)
