The free movement agreement between the border points of Vërmica and Morina has ceased to function for a two-month period as of March 1.
During this period, the border points of Albania and Kosovo will process data on vehicle drivers and passengers through an accelerated procedure.
This is also to avoid queues and waiting due to the high flow of vehicle and passenger traffic, also due to the fact that weather conditions have improved.
Although drivers and passengers speak out for free movement throughout the year, they say there have been no long waits at the border and they see the controls as normal.
Meanwhile, during weekends and official holidays, movement is without controls for vehicles with Albanian and Kosovo license plates.
The free movement agreement signed between Kosovo and Albania last spring eased traffic and eased border movement during the summer season. The joint Albania-Kosovo border crossing handles the largest number of vehicles and passengers entering and exiting both sides of the border. (A2 Televizion)
