Protesters and the police clashed at "Wilson" square, after the officers intervened to clear the road. The police pushed the citizens away, which led to moments of tension. In a statement to the media, PL MP Erisa Xixho said that this is unacceptable. According to her, the police are conveying the message that those who protest are violated, A2 CNN reports.
"You witnessed how we were sitting peacefully in the middle of the square and at one point we were pushed violently, unacceptable. Rama does not have this land, but it belongs to the Albanians, and when the Albanians decide to protest, the Albanians decide. And not to give political orders to rape women, girls and the elderly. They must all be held accountable. This message is given that every Albanian who exercises the right to protest is violated".
Opposition MPs, including Luan Baçi, Ina Zhupa and Erisa Xixho, clashed with the police. The Secretary of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, was also involved in the clash. (A2 Televizion)
