The fisheries management organization in cooperation with the border police and the Fisheries Inspectorate have seized over 1500 linear meters of fishing net, which was used on the shores of Lake Ohrid in Pogradec, at the time when fishing is prohibited in defense of the Koran.
The ban on fishing in Lake Ohrid in Pogradec throughout the month of December has increased controls by the fisheries management organization.
Despite the constant awareness and the fact known for years that in order to protect the koran of this lake during the breeding period, no type of fishing is allowed, there have been attempts by individuals who have tried to hunt the koran with nets at night.
For licensed fishermen in Pogradec, fishing in the lake will be allowed from January 1 with the specification to fish only near the shore. (A2 Televizion)
