Considerable areas of land have suffered massive landslides in the Porto Romano area, endangering dozens of homes and businesses. Residents accuse the Durrës municipality of poor quality work for deepening the high water channel. The municipality claims that the problem has been around for a long time and has requested the help of geology experts to determine the causes.
As if the floods in the neighborhoods of Durrës weren't enough, the rainfall has highlighted and expanded the map of problems in the Porto Romano area as well.
Residents link this problem to the municipality's investment in deepening the high-water channel that passes through the area.
A2 CNN inquired with the Municipality of Durrës about this issue, where the Project Director himself, off camera, stated that the issue started before the project was implemented.
