The new government law on the method of granting private beach space for use has meant that in Pogradec during the summer of this year, 80 percent of the lakeside space will be public and only 20 percent will be given to private entities that meet the conditions.
The relevant department in the municipality of Pogradec has also taken measures to administer the public beach area at the service of visitors, writes A2 CNN.
Meanwhile, this government decision is viewed with skepticism by the business association in the lakeside city. According to them, this method of distribution risks hitting and reducing business revenues during the only period when they hope to generate income.
Of the over 60 businesses that have operated on the beaches in Pogradec in the past years, around 25 are expected to be issued permits this year. (A2 Televizion)
