Immigrants living abroad will be able to vote in the May 11 elections even with expired Albanian biometric documents. Through its decision, the government grants this opportunity not only to the diaspora, but also to non-Albanians who will vote within the country.
The ruling majority once again reiterated to the DP that it will not accept the request to allow Albanian immigrants who do not have a biometric document issued by our state to vote on May 11.
This stance seems to distance political parties from the consensus to approve the amendments submitted to the Assembly for the Electoral Code next Thursday, which, among other things, include the payment of round-trip postage by the state for the ballot, as well as bringing forward the deadlines for registration with the CEC, which would give emigrants more time to fill out and return the envelope with the vote.
