A family of five in Trebinje, Pogradec, was left homeless after flames engulfed their apartment on Monday evening. As a result, the entire apartment, along with the family's furniture and every personal belonging, was destroyed.
Despite the intervention of firefighters, but also residents of the area, the apartment burned down completely, writes A2.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the flames. The head of the family, Agron Qose, says that it all started after an electrical spark on the roof and then the entire apartment was engulfed in flames in a few seconds: "Around 4 o'clock, we were inside the house with my wife, we heard a crack, but we didn't pay attention, only when a neighbor came and called us, get out because it's burned. When in 5 minutes the roof fell to the ground, the ceilings fell and we couldn't save anything at all. The fire department came, but they weren't able to do much, one firefighter even had an accident putting out the fire because he fell while working."
As the five family members were left without a roof over their heads, their only hope is now the state, as they had invested all their life savings in building the house. The Mayor of Pogradec, Ilir Xhakolli, while visiting the family, said that the Municipality will make all legal efforts to rebuild the burned apartment.
Currently, the Qose family has taken refuge with relatives in the village, while they are in urgent need of clothing and basic food. (A2 Televizion)
