Mainly from prices and individual wage income, a full 646 million euros entered the state coffers in January.

Data from the Ministry of Finance shows that compared to the beginning of last year, collections have increased by 101 million euros or 11.6%, writes A2.

Despite subdued inflation, a full 220 million euros were collected from the value-added tax on food and product prices, 37 million more than a year ago.

Eduart Gjokutaj, an economic expert, states: "This is good news for the state budget, but not for citizens and businesses. The latter are paying more. We lack an analysis that shows how much evasion and informality have narrowed. Through them we could also measure the overall performance of policies."

The increase in individual salaries also contributed 72 million euros, 15 million more than in the same month a year ago. On the other hand, the government seems to be more stingy with its spending. 464 million euros went to investments, an increase compared to a year ago, but they were only realized at 89.7% of the plan.

"It must be carefully analyzed. Why have the investments not been realized? This is a problem. It is not a cure but a lack of efficiency by the institutions," said Gjokutaj.

Revenues significantly higher than expenditures caused the country's economy to close positively in January with 182 million euros saved. (A2 Televizion)
