Foreigners coming to Albania and Albanians leaving the country. This is the dynamic observed this year, signaling that tourism will face strong challenges, despite the country's selection as an important tourist destination in the region.
According to data from the Institute of Statistics, in the first quarter of this year, over 1.6 million foreigners entered Albanian territory, with an increase of 5.9% compared to the same period a year earlier.
An even more significant increase was also characterized by the movements of Albanians abroad, many of whom choose other countries to vacation.
Over 1.8 million Albanians went abroad in the first quarter of this year, or 7.3% more than the same period a year ago.
The above figures indicate a negative balance in the movement of citizens, an important element in analyzing the situation in the tourism sector.
There are over 257,000 more Albanians who have fled than foreigners who have come to Albania. (A2 Televizion)
