The Ministry of Finance and Economy expects that the euro-lek exchange rate will not exceed the level of 110 lek for the next three years. In relation to next year's draft budget, "finances" predict that one euro will be exchanged for 109.5 lek on average until the end of 2026.
"If there are no extraordinary events along the way, then we can say that the MFE forecast is objective," says Dritan Vakaj, chairman of the Association of Foreign Exchange Agencies.
While a strengthening of the euro is not expected, for the Association of Foreign Exchange Agencies, the opposite may happen with the national currency.
"The lek appreciation may be even stronger if the Bank of Albania will continue with its policy of increasing the basic interest rate."
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance and Economy expects the US dollar to maintain a stronger position for the next three years, being exchanged at an average of 101.5 ALL. (A2 Televizion)
