Businesses desperately seeking employees, and young people complaining that they can't find work. With the experiment to bring in foreign labor from abroad almost a failure, all eyes are now looking inland. But there are still missing bridges that connect the needs of the labor market with those wandering around in search of a salary. To ease this impasse, the government is trying to take on the role of mediator by organizing a Job Fair.

"We have 2,200 job offers with a salary of 1,000 euros, but there are 5,500 positions that are being sought by private businesses, but the salary could be 2,000 euros or 3,000 euros," said Klevis Hysa, director of the National Employment Agency.

With higher salaries and distributed across different profiles, businesses are looking to hire a total of at least 5,700 individuals as soon as possible this year.

"If previously the most vacancies were in the processing industry, now we have a change in trend where we have many vacancies in the field of information technology, hospitality-tourism, in the field of construction. So we have a different trend," said Olta Manjani, Deputy Minister of MEKI.

Part of the group of young people, with an even greater desire to enter the job market, is Viola. Tourism is her goal.

"Since I'm from Vlora and have experience at the counter, I'm looking for a job in the tourism sector," student Viola Doko told A2 CNN.

There are also those who, even though they have a job, use the fair to keep up to date with market needs.

"I'm studying the market and trying to make new connections. I work part time for an audit company, but I like to check what the market needs," student Erjon Lleshi told A2 CNN.

To make the employment process as easy as possible, applications and the entire procedure can now be followed "online" by the job seeker.

"The very word Work&Study means that the future of our country must be educated in order to be productive in its employment. This is an invitation to all young people who want to help themselves in their careers, but also help the country's economy towards integration into the European Union," said Nikolin Jaka, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tirana.

To further alleviate the labor crisis, the government is expected to soon implement the "training while working, for pay" formula. The scheme will be co-financed by the government and businesses.  (A2 Televizion)
