4% growth this year, good days for the Albanian economy are expected to continue

The good days for the Albanian economy are expected to continue. With less than a month and a half since the start of the year, the Bank of Albania predicts that the country's economy will grow by 4 percent this year.

"We note a good performance. Which means a solid growth and high rates. This means an increase in employment and wages, an increase in business sales, affecting the general well-being of citizens," said Erald Themeli, Director of Monetary Policy.

The Director of Monetary Policy at the Bank of Albania, Erald Themeli, also talks about the sectors that are expected to have a positive and negative impact on the country's economic growth.

"We expect construction and tourism to continue to make significant contributions to economic growth. This cannot be said for agriculture and industry, which are not performing at the same pace as the other two sectors. However, the overall outlook is positive."

At a time when international institutions are warning of a possible return of the inflation wave, the Central Bank estimates that there are already balances in the markets.

"There is a flattening of the gap between demand and supply which translates into a price equilibrium. We expect inflation to remain on target until the end of this year."

The Bank of Albania estimates that keeping inflation under control, reducing public debt and simultaneously increasing wages and employment, guarantee sustainable growth of the country's economy. (A2 Televizion)
