The Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, received in a meeting this Thursday the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, João Tabajara De Oliveira Júnior, and the Deputy Ambassador, Minister Counselor, Mr. Ricardo Primo Portugal.
It is known that the meeting confirmed the readiness for cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking, but also the trafficking of girls and women from Brazil, for the purpose of practicing prostitution in Albania.
"The Director and the Ambassador confirmed the full readiness of the organizations they represent to intensify cooperation, in coordination with INTERPOL and EUROPOL, with the aim of cracking down on trafficking networks and other international crimes."
Also, Proda and the Ambassador appreciated the cooperation so far between the law enforcement agencies of both countries, which has resulted in the detection and crackdown on a number of cases of trafficking of girls and women from Brazil, for the purpose of practicing prostitution in Albania.
Further, it was agreed that this cooperation would not be limited only to aspects of police work, but would also extend to providing training for employees of sectors dealing with crime investigation, exchanging best police methods and experiences, as well as technological assistance," the State Police statement said.
