"He's a monster!" Ilaria Sula's killer's friend

The murder of 23-year-old Ilaria Sula by her ex-boyfriend, Mark Samson, has taken on even darker dimensions, as new evidence is coming to light. One of the key witnesses, Maher Abouzeid, a close friend of Samson, has told of the latter's strange and suspicious behavior in the days following the tragic event that occurred between March 25 and 26 in Rome. According to him, Mark is a monster.

"Mark was not an aggressive type, nor a jealous one. I would never have imagined such cruelty. He is a monster, I repeat. I always thought of him as an intelligent guy, but to have this coldness is scary. I feel like I'm in a horror movie. But I have nothing to hide," says his friend.

Abouzeid explains that he saw Mark the day after Ilaria's death. The latter had a swollen and injured hand, but he justified it by saying that he had fought with two boys, something that later turned out to be a lie. According to his friend, Mark was initially shocked, but then returned to his normal behavior: laughing, singing and seeking female company.

"When I saw him that night, his hand was swollen, red and painful. He arrived at his car around midnight. There was another boy there. We asked him what had happened. He told us that the night before he had gotten into a fight with two boys, outside Ilaria's house. But it was a lie. It was just the beginning of his lie. At first he was thoughtful, he seemed shocked. But I thought it was because of the breakup with her. Then he turned into the same Mark. The one I had always known. He laughed, joked, sang. We had a night and took two tourists. We stayed with them until three in the morning. I couldn't imagine that Ilaria was dead," his friend continues.

But the behavior that raised serious suspicions in Abouzeid was that Mark refused to leave his car even for several hours.

"I suggested to Mark that we leave the car and go home together, because he had to sleep at my house - but he refused. He didn't want to leave her unattended, not even for a few hours. It was a strange reaction. He seemed terrified at the idea of breaking up with her. I don't want to think that it was Ilaria's body in it."

The young man met Mark again on March 31st. That day, says Abouzeid, Samson was more silent than usual: "I tried to get him to talk. I thought he was feeling bad about the whole situation. He told me about the missing person report, about Ilaria's parents, about the reaction of her father, who, shocked at the police station, slapped him and asked him if he knew where his daughter was, and about her mother, who tearfully asked him: "Tell me you don't know anything, that it wasn't you." He speculated that she had run off with someone he had met on chat. He was playing the bluff. And in the morning, when we were at my house, he had locked himself in the toilet and at that moment a new story appeared on Ilaria's Instagram profile, which read: 'I'm fine and I thank everyone.' At the same time, he also told me about a letter, which he claimed was written by her, delivered during their meeting. last. A strange letter, out of her language. She said she wanted to leave, but that she loved him. Another strange thing about that day was a phrase he repeated often and that stuck in my mind: 'I'm afraid of the police.' That evening a patrol stopped us for a routine check, but he was extremely embarrassed. He kept looking back. Then the days after the discovery of the body and the arrest. My world fell apart.

Meanwhile, reports from Fanpage.it reveal that Mark Samson contacted several girls on Instagram before and after the murder, including a message on March 27. This behavior has increased suspicions about his coldness and lack of remorse.

"On March 22, Mark wrote a message on an Instagram page aimed at meeting new people, asking who would like to have coffee with him. I liked the post and then we spoke privately. A short conversation that later did not turn into a meeting like he wanted," the girl explains.

"First of all, I'm not a weak man, I'm very cold. I'm having a bad time. Do you want to talk? It's okay, don't worry," is one of the messages Mark allegedly sent to the young woman. The last message to the girl, which went unanswered, dates back to March 27: "Ciao, are you still out?". "I could have gotten into that car where he transported the body of his ex-girlfriend a few days later, I can't think of it," the young woman comments. According to Fanpage.it, she is not the only one who was contacted by Mark before and after Sula's death, even with requests to meet.
